Our Commitment
Alteya Organics is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive website for all users, including people with disabilities. We continuously work to improve the accessibility and usability of our website in alignment with recognized standards.
Standards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which define how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities.
Measures Taken
· Addition of alt-text descriptions to non-text elements (images and graphics) across our website and product pages.
· Support for keyboard navigation across primary pages (homepage, contact page, product detail pages).
· Use of semantic HTML and ARIA roles to improve compatibility with assistive technologies.
· Ongoing monitoring of accessibility features and best practices through Shopify and internal audits.
· Monthly accessibility audits conducted at the beginning of each month to identify and resolve non-conformities against WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
Conformance Status
According to our internal WCAG tracker:
· Level A: 35 of 38 success criteria implemented
· Level AA: 20 of 24 success criteria implemented
We are currently in a state of partial conformance and continue working toward full compliance.

· 1.1.1 – Non-text Content
➤ We provide text alternatives (alt text) for all non-text content (such as product images, icons, graphics, and functional elements) so that the information is equally available to users relying on screen readers. Product images include descriptive alt text (e.g., “Organic Rose Water 200ml Bottle”). Functional icons (shopping cart, search, etc.) are labeled with alt text describing their function. Decorative images that do not convey meaning are marked with empty alt attributes (alt="") so they are skipped by assistive technologies.

Known Limitations & Planned Improvements
· Some dynamic banners and promotional elements may require additional ARIA descriptions.
· Advanced product filtering options may need improved screen-reader compatibility.
